Biography

Sacha Gros grew up in Vail, Colorado and skied giant slalom at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. He was on the US national team from 1993-2002 with a best World Cup finish of 10th at the 2000 Wengen slalom, at which he won the second run. Gros also competed at the 1999 World Championships.

After leaving competitive Alpine racing, Gros settled in Alaska, but kept competing in such events as Arctic Man, combining snowmobilers and ski racers in the HooDoo Mountain Range; and in the Iron Dog, an endurance- and skill-based snowmachine race along the Iditarod Trail. Gros returned to Vail in 2006 and operated the Vista Bahn Ski Rentals in Vail Village.
