Alan Alborn was a ski jumper who competed at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Winter Olympics. He competed on the World Cup circuit for 10 years. Alborn won six US titles in his career, and, for a time, held the American distance records for ski flying of 221.5 metres, set at Planica, Slovenia in the spring of 2002. Alborn later went into coaching and became the head coach and athletic program manager of the US women’s ski jumping team. He also worked with development athletes and became program manager and head coach for the Nordic program at Utah Olympic Park, the Park City Nordic Ski Club.
