Brendan Doran competed in ski jumping for the United States at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics. He was on the US national team from 1994-2002. Doran won the 2000 US title on the K-88 hill in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He also won a Continental Cup event in 1995 at Westby, Wisconsin. His career was plagued by a number of injuries that kept him from reaching his potential. He retired from competition when he decided that at 6-2, he was too big to compete against the new era of lighter, faster jumpers.
