Description
After recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) early in 1964, Niger made its Olympic début in Tokyo later that year when they were represented by one boxer. Niger did not take part in the 1976 or 1980 Olympics, but has competed at all the other Olympics since 1964. Niger has never competed at the Olympic Winter Games.
Issaka Daborg won the first Olympic medal Niger in 1972 when he finished third in light-welterweight boxing, with Razak Alfaga winning a silver medal in men’s heavyweight taekwondo in 2016.
