The 1952 Olympic hockey matches were held on the infield of the cycling velodrome in Helsinki, and at Kauriala Field, in Hämeenlinna. A consolation tournament was also held, with some matches held at Porvoo Central Field in Porvoo. The main tournament consisted of 12 teams that played a single-elimination tournament, for the last time in Olympic hockey history.
India won its fifth consecutive gold medal, defeating the Netherlands in the final match, 6-1. Great Britain won the bronze medal by beating Pakistan, 2-1.
