Equestrian jumping was contested at the marvelous venue of the Château de Versailles, with the standard programme of an individual and a team competition. As at Tokyo 2020, the team competition consisted of three riders per team.
Six different nations won the medals in equestrian jumping, with Germany’s Christian Kukuk winning the individual gold ahead of the 2012 gold medalist, Steve Guerdat of Switzerland, while Great Britain won the team event in somewhat of an upset, as the favored Swedish team, the defending gold medalists, finished only sixth.
