Artistic Swimming at the 2024 Summer Olympics

Artistic swimming has had few changes during its time on the Olympic Programme. Traditionally, the Olympic Programme includes only two events: duets and team competitions. Since 2015, male athletes have been allowed to compete in the World Championships, but they have not been allowed at the Olympics previously. However, in 2024 men were eligible to compete in the team event, with a maximum of two per team, but no men actually competed at Paris.

Since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, the Russians have been the dominant team. But, since 2022, the Russian team has been suspended from all international aquatic competitions, leaving the Chinese team, with silvers in both events in 2016 and 2020, as the favorite for Olympic gold, while predicting the silver and bronze medals was virtually impossible.
