Bernhoff Hansen won three matches by falls to win this class. He would defend his AAU title in 1905. Hansen was listed as American in older records but he was still a Norwegian citizen in 1904. He defeated Frank Kugler in the final. Kugler won medals in St. Louis in tug-of-war, weightlifting, and wrestling, making him the only Olympian ever to win medals in three sports at one Olympic Games. Kugler has also been discovered to not be a US citizen, as is often seen, but was still a German national in 1904.
