The favorites were defending champion Sandra Näslund of Sweden, and Germany’s Daniela Maier, the 2022 Olympic and 2025 World bronze medalist. Also highly considered were two-time World Champion Fanny Smith, co-bronze medalist in 2022 and solo bronze in 2018, and France’s Marielle Berger Sabbatel, 25 times a medalist in the event on the World Cup circuit.

Qualifying followed the predictions as Maier, Näslund, and Smith went 1-2-3, although Berger Sabbatel was well back in 17th place. The knock-out rounds also proceeded as expected as all four of the favorites made it to the final.

The final saw Näslund lead in the early going, but she was passed by both Maier and Smith, with Maier holding the edge to the line to take gold, with Smith in silver, and Näslund winning bronze.

The co-bronze winners from 2022, who were both given that medal after protests, finished 1-2 in Livigno. Smith won her third straight medal in skier-cross, with bronze-bronze-silver.
