Charlie Daniels recovered from his loss of the day before in the 100-yard freestyle and easily won the 220-yard freestyle. He defeated three other competitors, led by America’s Frank Gailey and Germany’s Emil Rausch. Daniels and Gailey had a fairly close race, with Daniels winning by less than two seconds.
