There were 16 different automobile contests at the 1900 Paris Exposition. A hackney carriage is an automobile for hire, or effectively a taxi. The event was held over five days, from 6-11 August, save 9 August, with 60 km covered on the road, and another 33.6 km on the track at Lac Daumesnil each day. Two of the three entered taxis competed, with both receiving a prize.
