There were 16 different automobile contests at the 1900 Paris Exposition. This event was for delivery cars with gasoline engines, and was won by Brouhot, who was from Veirzon and raced his own vehicles. Second place was listed as de Dietrich, who was possibly German. However, this likely refers to de Dietrich, the Alsatian company which in the mid-1890s entered car manufacturing, led by Eugène de Dietrich, Baron de Turckheim, or possibly Adrien de Dietrich, Baron de Turckheim. When the company entered manufacturing it hired Ettore Bugatti, later founder of the renowned Bugatti Car Company, to design its cars.
