A French martial art, canne de combat is contested with a cane as the weapon. Closely related to the sport of savate (“French boxing”), canne de combat was held as a demonstration sport, together with savate, at the 1924 Olympics.
Canne de combat is currently governed by the Fédération Internationale de Savate (FISav), which was founded on 23 March 1985, and has 63 member countries as of January 2026.
