Jean-François Blanchy competed at the 1912 and 1920 Olympics in tennis, playing singles in 1912 and all three events in 1920. Blanchy was French Champion in 1923, defeating Max Décugis in the final. He was runner-up in 1910 to Maurice Germot. Blanchy won the 1923 French doubles title alongside Jean-Pierre Samazeuilh. He played in two ties in the 1923 Davis Cup, winning three matches and losing two. He later became prominent in tennis administration, as the director of the Villa Primrose Club in Bordeaux and a director of the French Tennis Federation.
