Biography

Inspired by his older brother, Nit Sriyabhaya took up football at a young age, but also took part in track and field athletics to build up his strength. He skill was such that he was selected as a reserve for the squad that represented Thailand at the 1956 Melbourne Games. There, his country was eliminated in round one by Great Britain and, because of this, Sriyabhaya did not see any playing time. Due to the disorganized nature of the sport in Thailand, he continued playing for several years, but eventually retired due to a lack of opportunities. As of 2022, he was the last surviving member of the Olympic squad.
