Anatoly Grishin was a sprint canoeist, winning a gold medal with the Soviet Russian K4 in 1964. Two years later Grishin also became World Champion with the K4, and in 1963 won a bronze with the K2 over 1,000 metres. In 1967 he was European Champion with the K4, and also won a silver medal in 1961 and 1967, adding a bronze in 1963, all with the K4. Grishin also won 15 national titles. After his active career he became a coach for canoeing, rowing and sailing, as well as an international referee.
