Biography

Valentin Piseyev was a Soviet figure skating judge who officiated at multiple international competitions during the 1970s. Piseyev was a judge at the World Figure Skating Championships in 1972 and 1973, as well as the Olympics in Sapporo and Innsbruck. After being elected to the International Skating Union’s (ISU) technical committee he then served as the President of the USSR Figure Skating Federation, and later the Russian Figure Skating Federation. He was also an Honorary Vice-President of the ISU and was awarded with the Olympic Order in Silver in 2001.
