David Lurie competed in the three-day event at the 1960 Olympics, riding Sea Tiger. Lurie attended St. Louis University and competed in 1960 while a student at the college. He was the son of a Carbondale glove manufacturing company executive. Very little is known about Lurie but he later lived in and around Boston and on Nantucket Island.
