Michelle Fazzari was a Canadian freestyle wrestler who won multiple medals at various international tournaments during her career. Fazzari won gold at the 2013 Francophone Games and the 2014 Pan-American Championships before a knee injury briefly forced her out of active competitions. Shortly after undergoing successful surgery, she made her Pan American Games début in 2015, placing seventh. The following year she represented Canada at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics but lost her first bout to Elif Jale Yeşilırmak. Despite this setback Fazzari then won bronze at the 2017 World Championships and silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. After winning gold at the 2021 Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series in Italy she was inducted into the Wrestling Canada Lutte Hall of Fame. Sadly, however, Fazzari was only 37-years-old when she died from cancer in August 2024.
