Butch Neumann was Missouri state road champion in 1955 and 1956. He rode for the St. Louis Cycling Club. Neumann graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla in 1956 with a degree in metallurgy. He competed at the 1956 Olympics and the 1957 World Championships. Neumann died in 2002 of a heart attack while skiing in Utah.
