Otto Relly was a Jewish player and official of the Wiener Athletiksport-Club. Later he became principal of the club’s hockey division. As a tennis player he was a member of the Austrian Davis-Cup team that lost 0-4 to India in Vienna in 1925.
The son of a well-known Vienna lawyer, who had changed his name from Rebenwurzel zu Relly, he was an associate of the textiles and clothing factory Josef & Eduard Schulhof. Eduard Schulhof was the father of his wife Lisbeth “Lisl”. She was the head of the club’s women’s tennis division. Otto Relly died unexpectedly at just 33 years of age.
