Ejvind Blach came from a family of hockey players. His older brother Svend played together with him in the team that won the 1920 Olympic silver medal. A third brother, Arne Mollerup Blach took part in the 1928 and 1936 Olympic hockey tournament. His son Preben Geo Mollerup Blach was selected for the 1948 Games in London.
