Svend Blach came from a family of hockey players. His younger brother Ejvind played together with him on the team that won the 1920 Olympic silver medal. A third brother, Arne Mollerup Blach took part in the 1928 and 1936 Olympic hockey tournament. His son Preben Geo Mollerup was selected for 1948 Games in London. Svend Blach was Denmark’s top scorer in 1920 with seven goals.
