Biography

Jordi Vidal was a member of the hockey section of Barcelona FC where he was captain, coach, and president between 1956-66 and 1972-76. Vidal also played for Club Deportiu Terrassa between 1967-71. He won 67 Spanish international caps and competed at the 1964 Tokyo, and 1968 Mexico City Olympics, just missing out on a medal in 1964 when Spain were beaten 3-2 by Australia in the bronze medal match. Vidal did however win a silver medal at the 1963 Mediterranean Games at Napoli. He was later a vice-president of the Catalan Hockey Federation (1997-2005).
