Biography
Gabriele Janke finished eighth with the East German foil fencing team at the 1980 Moskva Summer Olympics. Individually she was eliminated in the elimination round after round two. In 1978, Janke won her only individual national foil title, and with her home club SC Dynamo Berlin added a team title in 1979.
