In the 1920s Emma Fitting represented the Cercle des Armes de Lausanne fencing club in Switzerland. Fitting was selected to compete in the women’s individual foil tournament at the 1924 Paris Olympics. She finished third in her qualification pool to advance to the semi-finals before being eliminated. Her brothers Édouard and Frédéric, nephew Willy, and sister-in-law Suzanne all fenced for Switzerland at the Olympics.
