Biography

Austrian Michael Ludwig was a three-time Olympic foil fencer participating at the 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta, and 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics. With the Austrian foil teams, he placed 11th in 1992 and an unfortunate fourth in 1996. Individually, Ludwig finished 31st, 26th and 22nd on those three occasions.

Ludwig won nine medals at European Championships, among them an individual gold medal in 1992 and silver in 1991. In 1998 he won a World Cup event and in 1999 was a runner-up. They were his best international results.
