Bedřich Schejbal was the first president of the ČŠK Riegel in Praha (Prague) after the division of the German-Czech fencing club in 1902. Later, he represented SK Slavia Praha. His best national placing was a bronze medal with the sabre at the championships of the lands of the Bohemian Crown (Bohemia plus Moravia and Austrian Silesia) in 1909. At the 1908 Olympic Games he was eliminated in the first and second rounds, respectively, of the épée and sabre individual events but won bronze for Bohemia in the sabre team event. In Stockholm in 1912, Schejbal was again a member of the sabre team, which placed fourth after losing to the Netherlands on touches delivered after a draw on bouts. He represented Bohemia in various international events.
