Yi Jingqian

Yi Jingqian was a Chinese tennis player who played professionally from 1994 to 2001. Yi achieved a career-best singles ranking of #69 in the world in July 1996, and a doubles ranking of #206 in the world in October 1998. She played on China’s Fed Cup team from 1991 to 2000.

Yi won 13 singles titles on the ITF Circuit from February 1992 to April 2000. She also won six ITF doubles titles with four of them coming with compatriot Chen Li. On the WTA Tour Yi reached two singles finals in 1995, but finished as the runner-up each time, losing to Wang Shi-Ting and Barbara Paulus.

At the 1994 Asian Games Yi won a bronze medal in the team event. At the next Asian Games in 1998 she won silver in the team event along with bronze in the singles and doubles. Yi competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 2000 Sydney Olympics where she reached the second round in the doubles in Atlanta with Chen Li. Yi had her best Grand Slam performance in 2000, reaching the third round at the Australian Open before losing to Jennifer Capriati in straight sets.
