Pedro Alonso was on the 1936 Spanish basketball team that ended up withdrawing from the Berlin Olympics. He was a silver medalist at the 1935 European Championships. He began playing club ball in the 1930s after returning from studies in the United States, and later played for various teams including América, Real Madrid, and Rayo Vallecano, often accompanied by his brother, Emilio, and cousin, Claudio.
