Wiesław Glos

Wiesław Glos fenced épée for Poland at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics. As a fencer he was a two-time Polish champion, but he was much better known as an architect. Glos graduated from the Kraków University of Technology in 1964.

He won architectural competitions in Poland and abroad. His designs included an extension of the National Museum in Poznań, a design for the spatial development of the Cypla Czerniakowskiego in Warszawa, a design for the building of the Musical Theater in Kraków, and the opera house in Sofia. He was also listed as a contributing architect on the Church of Divine Mercy in Kraków, the building of the PKO Bank Branch in Zakopane, and the interiors of the PKO Bank building in Nowy Sącz.

Glos was a member of the Association of Polish Architects, the Kraków Branch. From 1984-2009 he was secretary and then chairman of the Division Arbitration Court, and also judge of the Association of Competition Judges of the Association of Polish Architects. In 1997-2000 he was a member of the Main Arbitration Court. Glos was awarded the Bronze (1971) and Silver (2003) SARP Badge for his long-term activity in the Association.
