Peter Bruder studied civil engineering at the Brookly Polytechnic Institute. He became a professional engineer and headed his own engineering firm for over 30 years. Bruder joined the faculty of the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture in 1948 and was an adjunct professor architecture. He became head of the Department of Environmental Technology at Cooper Union in 1970-71. Bruder consulted on many overseas projects, including the US Embassy in New Delhi, India; the US Pavilion at the Bruxelles World’s Fair, and also built domestically, including the New York World’s Fair Pylon and the Cooper Union Foundation Building renovation.
