Martin Davis graduated from New York University in 1959 with an engineering degree, and also competed for Salle Csiszar. As a fencer Davis was US Champion in team foil with NYU in 1959. He won a gold medal in team foil at the 1963 Pan American Games. When he made the 1972 Olympic team, Davis was runner-up at the US Nationals in foil.
Davis worked for a few years as an industrial engineer. However, he later became a leader astrologer and a writer and consultant on astrology. His first book, Astrolocality Astrology won the Spica Award in 2000 as best astrology book. In 1990 he moved to Scotland and in 1998 began running Matrix UK, the UK and European zone publisher of Matrix astrological software.
