Biography
Sherman Hall competed in fencing at the 1912 Olympics, representing the New York Athletic Club. He also made the team for the 1920 Olympics, but was unable to make the trip. Hall was AFLA foil champion in 1912, 1917, 1919, and 1920, and won the national sabre title in 1915-16 and 1920. He was the dominant US fencer of the years surrounding World War I. The US Championship trophy for team sabre is named in his honor and presented in his memory.
