Biography
Nelson Nieves fenced team foil at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics for Venezuela. He won three bronze medals at the Pan American Games, all in team events – 1955 team foil, 1955 team épée, and 1963 team foil. At the Central American and Caribbean Games Nieves also won three medals, highlighted by a 1959 team foil gold medal, adding silvers in 1959 in both individual and team épée.
