Edward “Ebbie” McHugh played football (soccer) for the United States at the 1952 Olympics. He also played club soccer for St. Louis Simpkins-Ford in the St. Louis League. McHugh was inducted into the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame in 1986. McHugh served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War.
