After the 1988 Olympics, Hope Spivey attended the University of Georgia where she won five NCAA Championships between 1991-94. She was 1994 SEC Athlete of the Year, and earned All-American honors 11 times. During her collegiate career, she was awarded 27 perfect scores of 10.0. She also represented the USA again at the 1993 Universiade. She settled in the Virginia area and opened Spivey’s Gymnastics in 1998. She was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
