Biography

Between 1948 and 1954, Mincho Todorov won numerous Bulgarian national gymnastics titles and, in 1952, took part in the Helsinki Olympics, where he had a best individual finish of joint-22nd (with Berndt Lindfors of Finland) in the floor exercise and was ninth with the team. Four years later, in Melbourne, he was joint-sixth in the floor exercise, alongside Ferdinand Daniš of Czechoslovakia, and, in-between, he competed at the 1955 European Championships.

Todorov was a member of the Bulgarian military and held degrees in physical education, which led him to embark upon a career as a military sporting instructor in Spanish-speaking countries. Most notably, he worked in Cuba, helping the new Communist government send its first delegation to the Olympics. He eventually settled in Mexico, where he worked for over four decades with the Mexican Olympic Committee, training athletes, teaching classes, and authoring over 50 publications, in addition to his administrative responsibilities.
