Ted Warren

A heavily-built but clever gymnast, Ted Warren was a member of the Birmingham Dolobran Club and won his first club title in 1923. He went on to become the Midland champion seven times, and in 1924 was a member of the Birmingham City club that were runners-up to Swansea in the national team championship. He was selected as one of the three reserves for the Paris Olympics that year. Four years later Warren went to the Amsterdam Games, and his 43rd place in the horse vault was the best individual result achieved by any of the British male gymnasts at the Games. A painter and decorator by trade, Warren married fellow gymnast Mary Harvett in 1930.
