Gymnast Jack Günthard later coached the Italian men’s national team in preparation for the 1960 and 1964 Olympic Games, and from 1965 to 1980 coached the national team of Switzerland at the sports school in Magglingen. With his radio program Fit with Jack he became well-known and became a pioneer of the fitness movement in the Switzerland. He participated in the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, winning a gold medal in the horizontal bar and a silver in the team all-around. In 1957 he was European Champion in parallel bars and high bars, and in 1956-58 was also Swiss Champion. He studied sports science at the ETH in Zürich.
