John Wussow competed in four events at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics. He competed in the individual all-around (112th); the individual all-around, apparatus work (118th); the individual all-around, field sports (=49th); and the team all-around, apparatus work and field sports (11th). Wussow represented the Milwaukee Turnverein. After marrying Emily Wieber in 1905, they moved from Milwaukee to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles he worked as a deputy collector and a gauger for US government agencies.
