Bob Sparks was from New Jersey, attending St. Mary’s High School in Elizabeth, and going to college at Seton Hall University. Sparks was high school Athlete-of-the-Year in 1965, and played baseball and basketball at Seton Hall. He was in the US Army in 1972 but later worked as an industrial salesman.
