Austrian Michael Sageder came from a rowing family as his father Alfred was a three-time Olympian from 1956-64. Michael crewed the quadruple sculls at the 1980 Moskva (Moscow) Games together with his brother Siegfried, Bruno Flecker, and Rainer Holzhaider. The boat finished fourth in the B-final and tenth in the final ranking.
