Canada’s Franklin Zielski lived most of his life in Belleville, Ontario, where he founded the debt firm F.J. Zielski & Associates in 1981. Prior to this Zielski was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He was a keen sportsman and talented rower who represented Canada at the 1960 Roma Olympics in the coxless four. The Canadian team finished in last place in the heat before finishing in third place in their repêchage heat. In 1985 Zielski founded the Quinte Rowing Club on the Bay of Quinte on the northern shore of Lake Ontario. In 2010 he was inducted into the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame.
