Danish rower Kurt Helmudt was an Olympic champion with the coxless fours at the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics. He also claimed a silver medal at the Europeans the same year. In 1970 he won a bronze medal at the World Championships. After his active career Helmudt studied shipbuilding and became an engineer. He later worked for B & W in København.
