Paul Locht’s greatest success in rowing came at the 1951 European Championships, where he won a silver medal in the coxless four alongside Harry Nielsen, Carl Nielsen, and Ejvind Christensen. At the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, with Knud Bruun Jensen replacing Christensen, they were eliminated in the round one repêchage.
Locht was also a handballer with Aarhus Gymnastikforening Håndbold, winning three Danish championships with the team and playing 37 games with the national squad during the 1950s. Among these appearances was one in which he scored 11 goals, setting a new Danish scoring record. By career, he was a social worker, working particularly with refugee children who had come to Denmark.
