Biography

Enrique Castelló started rowing in 1954 together with his friend José Sahuquillo. The two started competing in the coxed pairs, winning their first Spanish title in 1957. They repeated their win in 1958, 1960. The latter victory qualified them for the 1960 Olympics, where they were eliminated in the repêchages. The couple retired from sports in 1962, with a third place at the Spanish championships. Castelló remained linked to his Sevilla rowing club. He died of a stroke while coaching at age 71.
