At World Championships, Weis gained three bronze medals in 1994-95, and 1997.

Domestically, Weis won national titles in 1994-97, and 1999-2000. He also added three titles with the lightweight eights in 1993-94, and 1997, and in 1996 and 1999 won the national lightweight coxless pairs title.
