Sándor Hautzinger was a successful wrestler and rower. The Hungarian middleweight wrestling champion in 1905, he was a member of the Pannónia Rowing Club between 1905 and 1932, and won the Vienna Regatta every year 1905-14. He was 19-times the Hungarian champion in coxed fours and eights, and was aged 44 when he won his last title in 1929.
Hautzinger was the most successful Hungarian rower on the international stage for more than 20 years. He was a double silver, and three times bronze medal winner In the European Championships between 1910-25. Following his retirement, he trained the Hungarian national team between 1932-36. A versatile sportsman, Hautzinger was a centre for the Ferencváros TC bandy team between 1911-14.
