Rolf Spring of Ruderclub Zürich was the coxswain of the Swiss pairs, fours, and eights rowing squads at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Though the Swiss team made the finals in each event, it was only in the fours which they medalled, capturing the silver. Spring was a sports teacher by profession and a lifelong resident of Zürich.
